I’m going on the tour and info session tomorrow. Anything I need to know or pay notice to? Also, anyone gonna be on campus, lol?

you should have a good time, the campus is sweet!!

even though its in a HUGE city you can actually distinguish where you are on campus and not on campus =) (unlike columbia)

are you applyin for '10?

yup, huntsman and wharton ed.

what do you mean by huntsman AND wharton?

if you don't get into huntsman you have the option of being evaluated for just wharton or just the college

I remember when I made my campus visit last summer. It was about the same time I started posting on this forum every second I could.

Awww. memories.

I was there too, njchino371 (both the info session and the tour). It was a great day, and I was very impressed with the campus and the energy of the tour guides.

Wow, I think I'm in love. It was everything and more than what I expected. I thought the campus was more beautiful than even Dartmouth. Definitely the nicest urban campus on the East coast. Schools like Columbia and Harvard can't even compare. And I'm even thinking about picking the college as my single-degree backup just to up my chances of getting in. That's how much I want to go. Wow.

helix, u were at the info session at 11 am and tour at 12 pm? Awesome. Unfortunately, my tour guide was somewhat of a bore. She claimed to have founded the stand-up comdey club, and she's going to attend Penn law next year. I have no idea how that's possible; she seemed really boring and unenthusiastic, but I really don't care. The campus and all the other good stuff I've heard about the university has convinced me that this is my dream school.

nj- I'd suggest you apply to the school (College, Wharton, SEAS, Nursing) that you most want to be in, there is a chance that you will become miserable because you really wanted __________ but you applied for and got into __________ instead.

hehe njchino, after visiting i fell in love, too ;)
last year i contemplated applying to nursing to up my chances as well, but that was just while i was going crazy thinking about how hard it is to get in and realized it probably wouldn't be such a good idea. so yeah, just apply to the one you do want to get into (huntsman/wharton). go for it. good luck

thanks, i hope to see u guys next year. And oh yeh, is King's Court really that bad? I know the Huntsman kids have to live there first year. I really like the freshman Quad. It's beautiful with its own green and everything. But I guess its really too early to talk bout housing, lol.

haha. i overnighted in KC. and i'm going to be in the building this year, too X) .. it's not that bad, don't worry.

njchino, I felt the same way after visiting. The only reason I was visiting Penn was due to my mother's wishes. She wants me close to home, so she insists on Penn. After the visit, however, I fell in love with the school and everything it had to offer. Not only was the campus gorgeous, but my tour guide was also really enthusiastic and energetic, and she really showed me that Penn students are bright, energetic people. After the tour, my mom and I went out to eat and shop and take full advantage of Philly. I definitely will apply there come fall, and I'm even thinking of doing ED.

I loved the fact that there was someone from London and Saudi Arabia there; just goes to show that it really is a diverse place.

Good luck to you next year!

I was at the 11:00/12:00 info/tour as well. My tour guide was a rising sophomore at Wharton from a tiny town in Utah and he seemed quite knowledgable about the school and quite intelligent to boot. It's amazing how you can walk 10 feet and be in a complete urban setting to a completely quaint green; I was very impressed. The only thing is, I visited Princeton immediately after and that campus kinda overshadowed this one for me ;)

I am glad you liked your visit!

eh. my pton visits weren't very impressive.

hehe, I know what u mean. I live like 10 min from p-ton. I see it so much it just doesn't feel like goin to college when I visit. And if I choose p-ton, it would just be like moving next door, and not getting the hell outta dodge like I want to.

chocoman. I visited Penn today and absolutely loved it. The feeling transcends words, and one day i hope i am able to express them (ie, write well). I hope that I find myself in your shoes a year from now. Here's my post from earlier today; asking the members here whether or not i would make a decent candidate for admission:

If you could read it and offer any advice (as you yourself went through the same process) I would greatly appreciate it.
