I'm wondering what type of school I could transfer into as a Junior? (North Carolina)

I under-achieved in HS and skated by with a GPA (weighted) around 3.3 and I only took 1 AP class. I went to Western Carolina Univ my Freshman year and I managed a 3.4 GPA for the year (pretty good, right?)

I'm going to a local community college for my next year of schooling and I'm expecting around a 3.5-3.6 (I'm really focused and serious now).

I was wondering what kind of 4 year school you think I could transfer into? I really want to go to NC State, but I would also love to go to UNC or any other prestigious public schools if I could get in. Does UNC look at HS stats for transfer students?

Do you think I could get into NC State?
UNC?

Any other prestigious public schools (anywhere)

Thanks for your help

*My major is history with a minor in Middle Eastern studies by the way

With a 3.5-6, you have a really good chance at UNC, and I think you're in at NC State.

Most schools stop looking at your high school record after you have at least 30 units of college completed. If you apply as a freshman (for admission as a sophomore), this means they will still be looking at the high school grades. However, if you apply as a sophomore (for admittance as a junior) they usually downplay the importance of your high school grades (and your SATs).

The exception to this are the most prestigious colleges--like the Ivies and the top UCs, and Georgetown, Tufts, Williams, Stanford, etc. At those schools they look at everything.
