I'm worried about college; can someone tell me how I'm doing?

Hi, I’m currently a sophomore in high school and I got to a good public high school. There’s a lot of smart people in my high school and a lot of people here are distraught over anything less than a 4.0 GPA. I think the guy who’s most likely going to get valedictorian has a 4.5 GPA, or something in that area. I feel like I’m doing well everywhere except my GPA. I have a 3.65 GPA right now and I’m a sophomore at about the halfway point of my third quarter. Hopefully, I can bring it up to a 3.7 or maybe even a 3.8 by the end of Junior year. If I stay on my current math track, I’ll be taking Calculus 3 in college.

As a freshman I took:
Academic English I: 92=A-
Adolescent Issues: 95=A

Advanced Algebra II: 86=B
Business 21st Century: 92=A
Honors American Government: 87=B+

Latin II: 94=A

Personal Financial Mgmt (summer course taken summer after freshman year): 88=B+

Physical Education 9: 96=A

Physics I: 84=B
Orchestra: 96=A

Classes I’m taking now w/ midyear avg. (sophomore yr.)
Academic English II : B+ 89

Advanced Pre-Calculus: B 86

Business Org. & Management: A- 91

Driver Education (FINAL GRADE): A- 91

Honors Biology I: B+ 87

Honors Chemistry I: B 84

Honors Latin III: B- 82

Honors U.S. History: B+ 87

Physical Education 10: A 97

For Junior Year I’m currently enrolled in only 2 AP’s and 0 (or is it 1? I can’t remember) honors; however, that might change to 3 AP’s (w/ one AP weighted) and 1 or 2 honors depending on if I make the grade.

I have only taken the PSAT and I got a 196. I’m hoping to get above a 224 and get a national merit next year.

Extracurriculars:
Clubs= History club (yrs. 9 and 10), thinking of dropping bc I don’t really enjoy it that much anymore. Red Cross Club (yrs. 10). Thinking of doing Model UN next year and most likely doing photography club next year.
Sports= Play club soccer (yrs. 10), PADI certified SCUBA diver (idk if this counts?), also have a black belt in karate (doubt this counts, but I’m just throwing it out there). I have also played rec. soccer for all HS yrs. so far, but don’t plan on continuing. I do plan on continuing HS alternate league soccer; I did it in 9th grade (alt. league means players in grades 9-12 can make their own teams and play in a league)
Volunteering= Working with SONJ, township soccer program, and at libraries. Around 60 or 70 hours, and plan to get at least 100 hours.

I was wondering what my chances were for NYU, Rutgers, University of Michigan, Cornell, Northeastern, or Brown. I haven’t done that much research into colleges yet. I would appreciate people suggesting colleges in this range that I could also get into or good colleges that are in my range. I don’t plan on doing liberal arts.
I’m not really sure about the ivies though. I feel very confident about Rutgers though.

Would I be able to make it into colleges that are this range? What should I improve?

without an SAT/ACT score and a hoped for higher PSAT it is impossible to tell. A 3.65 GPA is on the low side for those schools, except Rutgers.

your unweighted GPA would ideally be above 3.8. It’s okay to back off on ECs provided the ones you do you are serious about. Your PSAT score is good for a sophomore, 224 is a pretty big jump from where you are at now. You can multiply your PSAT by 10 to get a rough idea or your SAT as of right now. You need more “A” grades and more AP courses if they are offered
