i have a low gpa which is at 2.6 unweighted and i got a 24 on my ACT
i am going to be a senior in highschool
right now i am enrolled in a college class at one of my local community colleges. will this help??
what are my chances of getting into indiana university at bloomington

should i even bother applying or do i have a chance???

thank you

You may get in if you are in-state. What is your class rank? If you are in the upper half, you have a chance. ACT is fine. Do you have any D's on your transcript? Typically IU wants to see A's and B's, maybe some C's.

i go to a parochial college prep school in illinois
my school does not rank
i had a D i think freshman year i dont remember though i would have to look it up.
Does indiana count freshman year?
because i have heard of colleges for whatever reason dont look at your freshman year.
if this is the case my gpa would be considerably higher.

do u think it helps that i am taking a college history class at a community college right now and plan on getting an A.
Also my grades since freshman year have increased upwards, does that help?

would that help to improve the look of my transcripts???

I don't know, I can't give you a definitive "yes" or "no". You just have to apply. There have been kids with 2.6's that have gotten in that aren't legacies. Usually if you are OOS you need to be in the upper 1/3 of your class, which you likely aren't with a 2.6. Apply and hope for the best, if you don't get in make sure you have an affordable backup plan.
