Imbalanced SAT scores

Right, I’ve submitted my common App but not my SAT scores yet because I’ve decided to retake the latest one this Saturday and hope for a more ‘balanced’ result.

What do I mean by imbalanced? Here you go:

October SAT I:
Critical reading: 580
Writing: 640
Math: 800

Total: 2020

Yeh well very poor Critical Reading result :frowning: but here’s why it is relatively imbalanced to me.

December SAT II:
English Literature: 740
Math II: 690

I hear people say that English Literature is like Critical Reading but harder .. I couldn’t believe that I score higher in Lit, right now my question is if my upcoming Critical Reading is still that BAD, will my Eng Lit (SAT II) score shed some light for me? Also, I scored so bad in Math II because I am not a Math Extensive Module II student (in HK that means one who studies calculus) so basically I have included that in my profile and I self-studied calculus ><

Meanwhile, wish me luck in this week’s SAT 3: I’m sure writing will improve and math stay the same, and reach 650+ for critical reading ._.

Thank you!

I’ve seen imbalance a lot worse. However just try to get the CR a bit higher and you should be fine. Good luck

@sgopal2 Thanks! I’m gonna do my best in CR  Thank you so much!

What school’s did you apply to? some require the math sat2 scores specifically you could be at a disadvantage there and what is your intended major if you don’t mind me asking.

@bored1997 I actually applied for Art/Architecture/Literature majors, I’m not a Science/Med person, not touching those …and I applied for Stanford and Dartmouth (low chance I know but no, the majors I apply don’t require Math II  It was just something I took because well minimum 2 subjects and I don’t study Science/Business and Chinese wasn’t available on the December SAT II subjects)
