Going by your location, I think I talked to you daughter--hope she gets in!

She says she is pretty sure that she did talk to you, and good luck! Keep us posted about your decision. :)

The financial aid package doesn't come until the spring.

Financial aid package, as in need-based aid? I know that comes in spring, but what about merit/scholarships/grants?

As far as I know, nothing is announced until the Spring- most scholarship info was included in our financial aid package........I think they wait to see who they have admitted in RD before they offer up the $$$- there may be exceptions for students they are desperate for, but I don't know anything about that. You could call the school and ask, I suppose.

I got in! :) I think we may call the financial aid office and get a definitive answer because that is really the deciding factor here....

Nothing in today's mail. Still waiting.

Congratulations ReInventor!!! We're happy to hear your news. I think they said it would be April before they give info on merit $.

The mail just came...D was accepted!!!:)

i did IDP the first weekend they had it available and got in :) !

totally awesome experience! it really is as easy and laid back as they say it is. i would definitely recommend it to anyone considering bard at any level (1st choice... backup...)

Bard is not my first choice, but knowing i have an excellent school under my belt relieves a lot of pressure on the whole college process.

Hi, im a student from France and Bard is the place i want to go too, and i am sure about that, i am though not a perfect student, i have good extra curricular’s ( AAU basketball, community service, music, film experience, good recommendation letters etc…) but my test scores are not good and my grades are average (3.0 GPA out of 4). I then wanna know what application process is the one that makes me have the most chances to get into Bard college, Idp? Early decision? or regular one?
Thank you!
Oscar

you have to be on the campus to do the IDP plan. If you do plan to come to the US in the fall, sign up now for a spot. It fills up.

If your test scores aren’t good, you don’t have to send them in. Bard is a test-optional school where sending in test scores are ACTUALLY optional. While your GPA is solid (but a bit lower than the average 3.5 GPA), Bard isn’t about the “numbers” on your application. What the admissions office is looking for is a student who has a thirst for knowledge, is quirky, can add to the college, and above all else, is a good fit for the college.

That being said, Bard is certainly one of only a few colleges that takes a true holistic approach in the admissions process. If you think that Bard is the right place for you, tell them (and what makes you a Bardian and what you feel you can add to the campus and what you’re looking to get out of Bard). If you do that, I think you’ll have a pretty good chance at Early Action, or even Regular Decision, but that’s a tougher round because more people apply then.

My son got his letter from Bard today confirming his IDP date. He’s very excited!

^^^GKM, very smart to get that in early. Those dates fill up FAST. Good luck to your son. :)

how fast does the IDP fill up? I’m planning on sending mine out today, but I’m worried I might be sending mine out too late if people are already getting confirmations.

I decided that i will come to the US for the IDP, I know Bard is where i want to spend 4 years of my life!
Thank you for your answers!
Oscar.

paperdolls, the web site will specifically say when they are filled. They do not appear to be so, but don’t wait any longer!

It was important for him to get a date confirmed early because we are on the West Coast, and have to plan travel.

Hi! so i just applied to the IDP, i read both of the texts but i don’t know how i should approach them! Does anyone know what Bard asks for during the class discussion, and how they want you to analyse it?
Thanks,
Oscar.
