Immersion Language Courses for Summer

We are researching immersion language seminars for the summer of 2011 for our teenage daughter. Japanese is the desired language. We are looking at Middlebury/Monterrey; Corcordia Villages, and Youth For Understanding as the primary opportunities. Has anyone out there heard of others?
Thanks

I did the Middlebury-Monterey program for French in 2009. I didn’t think that MMLA did Japanese, but if it does, I’d be happy to tell you about the program. You can PM me or just post back here.

No specific experience personally with Japanese, but can tell you the following:

My best friend from college (20+ years ago!) went to Middlebury for their summer Japanese immersion program, and absolutely had the time of her life. She was a Japanese major in college, and works now teaching Japanese and as a translator. She did spend a year in high school there with Rotary, too.

My kids have gone to Concordia Language Villages for years, and D1 did two years as a credit villager. But neither in Japanese. They had really excellent experiences (and D1 is now studying abroad her junior year in college in the country whose language she studied at camp).

D1 went on a YFU program to a different country (not Japan) summer before senior year. There were tons (maybe 90% of the kids) going to Japan in her orientation session prior to going. I believe they have a lot of scholarships available to Japan if I remember correctly, so that is a bonus.
