Language summer programs?

I am really interested in languages, and would love to go to a summer camp where you learn and are immersed in a certain language. However, the only ones I can find are very expensive. Does anyone know of some affordable language type summer programs?

Middlebury Monterey Language Academy is a good possiblity -- and offers excellent financial aid.

Concordia, but you've probably already heard of it. how about exchange programs?

Middlebury-Monterey has locations in Vermont and California. Vermont is full and has a waiting list. California still has some space available. Financial aid is need-based.

High School Diplomats program is more known in the east coast, mainly Virginia because it originated here. However it has started to spread across to New yrok down to Florida and across to Nebraska. Its not widely known but this summer program is hosted at Princeton University for 10 days. This program is not academic based. It is semi cultural experience with Japanese high school students and U.S. students and its emphasis is on friendship. THis program is ALL fun and social. There are japanese classes were you learn a little, depending on your level but the experience was amazing and priceless. If you're interested I can explain some more a/b my experiences etc. Also you have to be a sophomore or a junior now to apply.

Thank you all for your responses. I will definitely look into these programs. :)

this looks like a good program, immersion. anyone have any direct experience?
