Impact of D Senior Year

Hi Everyone,

My son has applied to UNCC (along with other UNC schools) and hoping to attend next Fall. Based on his current standing, I think he has a good chance.

ACT: 28,
SAT: 1730 (old format)
WGPA: 4.25
UGPA: 3.3
Good activities: NHS, NCSU internship, community service etc.

Now the problem is, he ran into a situation at school where there is a possibility of getting a D in one of his senior year courses. He never had a D before. I’m trying to assess his situation and calm him down a bit, but I’m wondering how its going to impact his chances at UNCC. If he gets admission, any possibility of UNCC rescinding after the final transcript is submitted?

I’m sure he’ll be fine as long as he shows improvement. His other stats are great. I heard that some students are already receiving acceptance notices. Fingers crossed for my d and your s.
