Impacted Majors decrease chances?

Is Biochemistry an impacted major at the UC's? Specifically UCSD, UCLA, or UCB?
Because I'm not sure if I want to put it down, I might put some something else and then change my major if it's impacted, since impacted majors tend to lower chances.

Please Help!!

First, at all three schools biochemistry is part of the school of letters & sciences. Choice of major for that school is not considered in admissions.

The story is different if you are applying to the school of engineering, the Haas school of business, or selected other schools within individual UC campuses.

Here is a link that explains this and other related questions:

That said, it is not a bad idea to investigate the size of the major, the number of enrolled students, class sizes and difficulty getting major classes. This is not because of admissions, but because of what comes afterwards --- you know, when you actually start attending. :)

cool thanks
