Impacted Majors

Hello all,

So it turns out I don’t know which majors are “impacted majors” at the various UCs and CSUs. For of the following colleges, you guys tell me what their impacted majors are?

UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UCSB, UC Riverside, UC Santa Cruz, UCLA, UCB, SDSU, and Cal Poly SLO?

Thanks to all who reply.

One I know for sure is Cal Poly - literally everything. Yes, every major. They have varying, not-easily-found requirements, but all majors there are impacted to some degree.

Here is a link to the impacted majors at CSU campuses:

Link for majors that require more than minimum UC requirements and also impacted majors. In general, Engineering/STEM majors are usually impacted.

All of the campuses you list are impacted at the campus level - meaning seats are limited and the whole school is selective. More selective than the over-all UC and CSU standards you can find on their web site. That said, at most of these campuses, some majors are much more competitive than others.

It paints a pretty good picture of how the admission thresholds are high across the board but vary somewhat.
