Importance of AP Literature

I’m currently a junior who is interested in biology major.
I already signed up for my senior classes, but people have been telling me that I should take AP lit class even though I’m not interested in english major. I’ve been planning to take a creating writing/British literature class instead, but after hearing that, I’m not so sure if I should change my schedule.

Would taking AP lit look good on my transcript?

btw, I’m taking already taking four ap classes next year.

Mistake #1 - Don’t take any class to look impressive on an application. I don’t care what the class is, AO’s will not be impressed.

I am of the opinion that 4 AP’s as a senior are more than enough. All rising seniors forget the hidden class in the Fall - College Applications and Essays, which will eat up a lot of time.

Whether AP Lit is the one you should eliminate is your choice. In your favor is that you are taking AP Lang this year, and many college do not give credit for both. Working against you is that 4 of the 5 AP’s you listed on an earlier thread, AP Microeconomics, AP Psychology, AP Computer Science, AP Gov, aren’t known as being the most rugged AP’s. I know you’ve already taken AP Bio, but personally, I would take AP Chem over any of these, unless and Econ and a gov class are graduation requirements.

But really, at the end of the day, taking AP Lit vs not taking AP Lit will not move the needle in the college admissions process. Good luck.

My school doesn’t offer AP chem. I was going to self-study for the test this year, but I found it hard to do so and score well.
