Importance of Fine Arts in Admissions?

How important is a fine arts class in admissions?

I don't have any arts credits at all, and I sat in on the first day of Fine Arts Survey today and it sucksssss. I have no friends in the class; it's filled with juniors and I'm a senior.

Now, I'm wondering whether to take it or have an off hour. I'm looking at basically 1st and 2nd tier schools, and plan on doing engineering of some sort, if it matters.

Thanks all!

For the record, my schedule is extremely rigorous. I'm taking 6 other classes, like english, spanish4, calc, western civ, chem3: organic, and physics2

I didn't take any fine arts...

I don't know about the very difficult admission schools, but most schools couldn't care less, they would be thrilled to have an applicant with your credentials.

If you have any interest in applying to the UC system, you will not be eligible for admission unless you have one year of fine arts in high school.
