How important is the high school that you go to in the mind of admissions people. My high school (public) is probably about average in the state/country for difficulty. However, I have taken the most difficult schedule possible and have become valedictorian with a GPA of 4.0 unweighed, 4.12 weighted. I really wanted more APs(we have 4) and I tried to lobby the administration for many different new APs, including Govt., Chem., Stats, and World History. I presented petitions with interested students to the administration, but I was not successful due to a severe funding shortage. Finally I decided to do the AP US Govt my self this year. How will Kenyon view this situation (my counselor explained the lobbying thing in her reccomendation). Please help!!

Kenyon will understand and consider your application in the context of your school. You will not be penalized for your school’s shortcomings. Breathe.
