<p>How much importance is placed on the interview? </p>
<p>I am out of state and haven't gotten the chance to visit campus, if that makes a difference.</p>
<p>I applied early decision and DID get an interview, but in my opinion, I didn’t think it went very well but I got accepted. So with that being said, I don’t think it should affect your decision that much if at all, because not everyone has interviews anyway. Although I don’t work at Rice so that is just all my opinion.</p>
<p>The interview truly is optional. Rice interviews are short, casual conversations. Not interviewing certainly will not hurt you.</p>
