Importance of Penn interview?

Are the interviews more informational (answering your questions about Penn) or more about evaluating the candidate? How much weight is placed on them? As in, can a good interview greatly boost your chances, or is the interview just to check up on the applicant to make sure the applicant is a decent human being?

Any insight is appreciated. Thank you

Both. It’s just a casual conversation. Sometimes, alumni are very old and enjoy you telling them information about the school they graduated from. In terms of weight, not very significant, unless you showed any negative qualities (rude, vulgar language, demeaning, pompous, etc.)
