Importance?

Suppose you want to go to a college like Texas A&M, and you already have a good SAT score +2000, and a good act score (29), and your ranked in the top 5 percent. How much work should I put in if i already know i will get accepted? Does it help with scholarships or anything? If it does help with scholarships, is it only the top essays that get them?

Bump. Any answers?

If you are that smart, why would you want to try to aviod writing a good quality essay? You are also assuming you will be accepted. Maybe they have it narrowed down to you and a few others then read the essay and find out you didn’t seem to put as much effort into it as someone else and pass you over. It seems simple enough to write an essay instead of deciding if it is worth your time and energy to do so.

You get automatically accepted if you are in the top ten percent. you also get automatically accepted if you get a 1300 on math+critical reading and are in the top 25%, which i also did. you also get automatically accepted if you get a 30 on the act, which i almost did.
