important advice

important advice to keep in mind
i typed up a whole bunch of stuff earlier but it got deleted so heres just the bare bones of it

a) senior year grades count a lot - even if you have perfect stats and get interviews at programs- they still look over your senior year grades after interview so that can keep you out of great programs

b) ba/md over most regular colleges (except I guess Harvard)
life never gives you a guarantee so take the closest thing

I didnt agree with B at first and I thought I was selling myself short when accepting an offer to a mediocre undergrad and mediocre md school but really theres so many variables in your college experience and you dont know right now how you're going to do in college. I definitely recommend taking the more secure option, if you are sure you want to be a doctor.

and for those that say oh you cant know at age 18 what you want to do - I say theres nothing wrong at all in having some sense of direction in your life and if you have enough experience and have decided you want to be a doctor - then definitely take BA/MD applications and decisions seriously

Good luck to everyone.

lol what if we are sure about becoming a doctor, but don't have the stuff to get into these programs? premed!
