My friend just tried to submit a common app supplement to Claremont McKenna College. It was 11 ish WESTERN time and it wouldnt let her submit it. But someone else I know submitted that same supp an hour earlier, successfully. What is the rule for time zones? She's kind of freaking out right now, CMC is her top choice

The other applicant actually submitted hers only 10 or twenty minutes before my friend did. Why would cmc accept one submitted at like 10: 50 and NOT one at 11 ? So confusing

HELP.... please.

I think common app needed everything by EST. The fact is these things don't go exactly by the clock, the other applicant may have gotten lucky as the common app people put a stop to accepting apps. The best thing she can do is call the college admission department and ask!
She shouldn't have delayed it so much if this was her top college!!

RETRY SUBMITTING THE APP IF IT DOESN'T GO THROUGH THEN YOU'RE TOO LATE. SORRY.

Just email the school as soon as possible so they can see that you emailed before the actual deadline and just hope they care.

That's strange... the Common App Website says:
"Schools located in other time zones may accept your documents up until the posted deadline in their local timezone, even though your submission time stamp will be recorded in eastern time."

CMC IS located in California...

A quick question, does the payment have to be submitted before the deadline? or just the application itself?

If it's separate from the application (i.e. you can submit it before you submit the actual application) then you should send it.

Otherwise, checks are always appreciated. :)

what if it's for common app online because I submitted my payment after the Jan. 1 deadline.

You might as well send it. If your application is somehow denied because you missed the deadline, then more likely than not, you'll get a refund.
