<p>I know that Agriculture and Life Sciences is state funded, so im not sure if they're obligated to accept a certain number of NYS residents</p>
<p>There are no quotas or obligations. They do not favor NYS residents to my knowledge. If it's between CALS and CAS, however, CALS on average has slightly lower admissions standards. CALS appears to favor NYS residents because so many NYS residents apply to CALS over CAS because of the reduced tuition. With so many NYS residents applying, it makes sense that a greater percentage of the accepted students will be from NYS.</p>
