Impressions that CC Gives to People

Don't count yourself out just yet. My ECs were paltry by CC standards, and I got into some good schools. Focus on presenting yourself as an attractive package as a whole, particularly with your essays.

I've already been accepted to the school I applied to. To me, names mean absolutely nothing. According to people on here, I would be lucky to get into a CC. I just think that some people here have a messed up perception about schools. If this was fashion, they are label w****s. I'm happy with my "crappy-get-you-nowhere-in-life" school.

generally good impression, except when i opened that "do you judge drug users" thread in hs life and saw how closed-minded we are as a group.

HAHA!! I totally agree with you. That's why I'm happy I found this site AFTER I turned in all my apps!

summer programs that have basically negative acceptance rates
There are more valedictorians here than all other ranks combined.

Hah this is true, I've been on here two days and one of the first posts I saw was about a girl with a 2390 SAT and a page and a half of EC's wondering whether she could get into her safeties.

Hmm. I must have no chance, then.

quite typical :)

Haha, I had that boycott-cc-or-suicide conversation with some friends the other day. They seem to think I'm mad for lurking here as often as I do. They don't seem to realize that I'm hardly immune to the way overachieving mentality here, and that at times, I actually feel like utter crap; I'm just here because at times, it's fun talking to people that are as insanely obsessed with colleges as you are.

Fun fact: I actually cried for about two hours after getting rejected by Stanford because I thought that it was the only way I would ever have a future and it seemed like the majority of the people got in (and I think about half the people on the Stanford board did get in).

Oh, CC. Odi et amo. Odi et amo.

you should had the boycott cc or enjoy an innocent life convo.
which school do you go to, aninvertedlove?

Shanghai American School, where you not only get pressure from your peers, but also pressure from their parents when they compare your scores over the phone and during lunchtime get-togethers.

haha, pudong or puxi? i might be going to the cultural convention at CISS next next week..

Puxi.
There's a cultural convention at Concordia next next week? What's going on there? Haha, I don't think I've ever actually met anybody there, since I'm not involved with sports. Where are you from?

haha i was over at shanghai this summer! thats awesome! maybe i met you ;)

Whoa, Shanghai seems popular. What's the allure? It's so sticky and hot during the summer :P

narcissa -_- ... no comment...
mm I go to xis, a school of 300 lol. the cultural convention won't be about sports lol, i'm sure you're referring to acamis sisac apac or whatever..
it's too bad you don't join sports! the tournaments are so fun..

Oh, I meant that I had no occasion to ever meet up with people from CISS, since most people at SAS seem to know Concordia kids from games. XD
APAC does sound fun. Some of my friends are in Osaka right now for band :(

You're on CC at 2 am...pahahaha
Have you even heard of xis? lol. Hmm, I have/had a couple friends who go to sas..

lol i'm on CC at like, 4am. hahaaha

u wanna hear my impression?
it gives u an impression that u r just a piece of ****!
