Before I signed up for CC, I thought 1800s were nice. After being on CC, even 2000 feels on the down hill. What kind of people are most CCers anyway? The top elite and the crazy 99th percentile?
(The average of SAT for America i like 1500)..

Just wanted to share some of my thoughts that popped up spontaneously

When I first joined CC, I didn’t know much about the SAT, let alone sat scores. I read a little bit, and i thouhgt “oh 2100 is a great score! It will get me into an Ivy!” Then I read a little more and then over a period of a couple months i was like (still am like) “w t f i think i can get an 2250 and that still won’t get me into brown.” hahhah

@hgsoloco (is like) you forgot the (s) in the sentence before the last one.

Going back to the topic, most students in CC are just (really hard working ones) not GENIUSES and that is what I like about CC it makes you a hard worker too.

Btw people who tell you they got a 2300+ without opening a book or studying are one of two things
LIARS big fat ones
there teachers practiced the SAT with them at school. That doesnt mean solving SAT tests but it means that their teachers practice with them the topics on the SAT.

If you ever want a funny, yet slightly inaccurate definition of CC, urban dictionary it.

in fact, this made me laugh a crap load:

Among the worst websites on the internet. A place to go where you can read about snotty geniuses who feel the need to brag in the ultimate attempt to make the “average high school student” feel pity on the themselves. An absolutely awful website that privileges and celebrates the Ivy League-Potential student, while completely forgetting about everyone else.
Jonathan from New York: Hello, my name is Jonathan from New York. I was wondering if I could get into any college in the entire universe with these ****ty grades and these terrible credentials. Will someone please help me!? Here goes: 5.0 GPA (on 4.0 scale); 1600 SATs; participated in every club in my high school; Started 12 new clubs/became Club President of each respective one; was Valedictorian of my class; participated in Community Service; Volunteered all over the place; Held jobs at 8 different workplaces; Wrote an amazing College Application essay; Teachers wrote excellent recommendations about me/sent those to the colleges; participated as Captain of every available high school sport team; played 4 different instruments/played in Jazz Band/Orchestra/Marching Band/Symphony Band/Choir… Oh yeah, and my high school is ranked #1 in the entire country… WHAT ARE MY CHANCES PEOPLE??? HELP ME!! I’m just so worried, and I probably won’t even get into the nearby Community College!! HEEEEEELLLPPPP!!!

^LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL( I am going to burst because of laughter)

Cant stop laughing, that is kind of a good description.
But not every person here is like this.

lol i wouldnt say worst. there are very few people on CC who put up posts like that. Whoever wrote that definition is probably working as a garbage collector, cuz he or she didn’t take college seriously. lol jk just being silly.

and 1600 sats would be bad…if we are considering writing hahahhahah

That example on Urban Dictionary seems so true lol. I get ****ed off when I go into the “What are my chances” section because some of the geniuses described in UB act just like that. They are seriously worried about not making it into a decent university even though they have a close to perfect gpa, an extremely high SAT score, and 10+ECs.

I think people that tell you 2100+ isn’t good enough are so full of it (it being a less than savory term for poop) it starts to seep out on to there keyboards. Harvard’s 50%tile is: Critical Reading: 690 - 800
Math: 700 - 790
Writing: 710 - 800

So 700+ range is where 75% of people that get in are. 25% are even lower than that in one section GASSSP.

Obsession isn’t a good thing, and don’t ever let some stranger over the internet bring you down. If they’re so unhappy with their lives that they’ve got to drag you down by saying your score isn’t good enough to get into a school (when it is, if it’s not it’s not), they’re pathetic and not worth your time (:

Lies. I got a 2320 first try, and I didn’t take any snobbish prep classes. And it doesn’t help that my school is so poor we get our centrifuges in Chem from raided meth labs.
