Improve my CR score

I did the Pretest SAT in the college board online course and got 2040..
640 CR 680 Writing and 720 math

Cr is def. my weakest area... what should I do to improve that?... not review books or reading books lol i know that already... any webiste that have good help? thanks

BTW my sophore PSAT was a 192
62 CR 63 Writing 67 Math so I improved in all but only a little in CR.. I probably would get around 208 if I took my time though. but yeah anyways how do i improve my CR score?

bump to the bump

How about practicing on analysing articles, passages from books, etc? That's what worked the best for me (got an 800 on CR). The more you practice on picking out whats important, and on being able to interpret texts, the easier it will be on the SAT. The most important thing is to always make sure you can back up whatever you conclude (whether a hard fact or an inference) with evidence from the text.

thanks... how about the Sentence completion questions

That's basically flat memorizing words - roots are also good to know as well though

However, do not just remember the definition of the word, remember the word of the definition.

On the SATs, after reading the sentence, a definition almost instantaneously comes into your mind, but you must choose from a list of words. Therefore your brain has a harder time "reversing" the connection. For instance:

diffident - "lacking self-esteem"

flip

"lacking self-esteem" - diffident, taciturn, self-effacing

This way, words are much easier to call up and recognize during the test

Please search this... I have answered this question with a lengthy response that I will NOT repost every time someone asks!

Heh. Just read the passage and answer what's being asked. For SCs you can memorize vocab, but I find that it's a waste of time; you have no idea which words will be on the test.
