Improvement from PSATs to SATs

did anyone notice their scores go up from their PSAT (predicted score) to their SAT score?

172 to 1860. not great, but it's an improvement

140 points is a huge improvement!!!

I agree. I was referring to the score, not the improvement.

223 to 2260. Only a small improvement.

I went up quite a bit back in the 1970s, when no one in my part of the country did any test prep.

190 as Junior to 2100. I just retook it also and think i did better. Don't be concerned (if you are) because 90% of my friends scored higher on their actual SAT

2120 on October SAT, 220 on PSAT...mostly because I learned a LOT a LOT of math in the two weeks between the tests

234 sophomore; 230 junior; 2390 Nov SAT (taken a week or two after the PSAT) -- all this proves is that I miss three questions, no matter what the test. xD But I'm not complaining.

51 CR / 67 M / 55 W to 660 CR / 800 M / 670 W

granted I did not really know anything about the psat when I took it.

227 (77 CR, 76 M, 74 W) to 2340 (790 CR, 750 M, 800 W).

yes - majorly. im talking 200 pts

227 (77 CR, 76 M, 74 W) to 2340 (790 CR, 750 M, 800 W).

Wow! This looks so much like my score: 79 CR, 75 M, 73W. Hopefully, I follow the same trend on my SAT...

180 to 2200

NO 230 to 2160 - not cool
Sigh, oh well, there's always next year

For those of you that saw increases, did you prep between tests? If so how?

200 to 2020 (my w and cr went up a lot, but m went down substantially...). i didn't prep for any of the tests.

psat - 54 cr, 62m, 58w (174/240, 116/160)

first SAT - 580cr, 700m, 620w(1900/2400, 1280/1600)
second sat - 630 cr, 750 m, 680 w (2060/2400, 1380/1600)

I improved a lot from the PSAT to the second time I took the SAT. I didn't study at all for the PSAT; I wanted to see what I was working with. I took an SAT prep class after the PSAT, but I am not sure how much it helped. I think just practicing with the type of questions and the format is what helped me to improve, not necessarily what the prep people tried to teach me. They wound up confusing me more than helping, so a lot of my improvement came from me studying on my own.

211 to 2220, and I didn't study for the SAT.

225 to 2300. My reading and writing scores switched from highest->lowest in PSAT to lowest->highest. Weird.

One thing that I found crucial was to drill vocab into my head. They made the sentence completion section so much faster and the rest of the reading easier. I did lots of practice tests and built up my reading speed, which is great for any verbal sections.
