IMPROVEMENT versus CONSISTENCY

Hi guys.

My major essay on my UC application was about my progression as an individual. Here are some things I progressed with:

SAT I score:

1120 -> 1340 -> 1420 (760math + 660verbal)

(I only took the SAT II once and i got 770mathII, 710writing, 690physics)

UC GPA:

S1: 3.0
S2: 3.0
S3: 3.6
S4: 4.0
S5: 4.3
S6: 4.3
S7: 4.6
S8: [4.6]

ECs:

only tutoring freshman year (all through high school), then two clubs sophomore year, then four clubs junior year, then six clubs + city-recorded community service + started and headed my own club + became a district V commissioner for countywide youth commission in senior year.

So I was wondering how this looks for college? (namely UC berkeley, UCLA, MIT and stanford). Also, how does it look compared to if I had straight As all throughout high school and always had a consistent EC amount.

I’m eager to hear everyone’s thoughts! Thanks in advance.

Dude, you're in at all UCs.

Stop worrying.

You have no advantage and maybe only a mall disadvantage over someone who got a 1420 the first time.

It is better to have consistently high grades, but improving grades are always helpful. For UC admission, only the overall UC gpa matters. They don't look at indiv semesters, or 9th grade.

darn..... well what do you guys think my chances are anyhow =P
