Improving my score from a 2080 to a 2200?

Like a lot of people on CC this morning, I just checked my SAT scores back and was fairly disappointed to see 700-M 690-R 690-W + 12 essay. Although this is a 200 point improvement from my 1880 (640-M, 580- R, 670- W + 11 essay) back in March, I still feel like I can do better.

I run through this test really quick, with atleast 3-5 minutes of extra time if not more after each section, and even though I check my answers, I keep missing the little errors/mistakes that are holding me back from a 2200+.

I'm taking it again next October for the last time and I'm wondering what should I do to refine my score and fix the little mistakes.

I already went through the Blue Book and a Kaplan Critical Reading book, do any of you have any other suggestions/tips to sharpen up my scores to around a 740-750 on each? I'm pretty decent in each section but not phenomenal in any of the three, although my major weakness is probably vocab.

Sorry this isnt a post to answer your question but could you tell me how you improved on critical reading? Thanks!

I can’t really help with writing or math (only tip i can give you is remember the silly mistakes you’re prone to making and keep that in mind when you do the test) but I think you can definitely get 2200+ by working on reading.

My scores went from 1970 (660r 700m 610w) to 2220 (800r 760m 660w) this time mainly because my reading went from 660 to 800. Just keep reading, memorise the vocab if you feel like it can help you (though I didn’t) and never answer with anything that cannot be directly supported by the passage!

Math is easy to bump up. Reading and writing are honed through years of reading and writing, but since you’re going to take it in October, you can start subscribing to The Economist or The Wall Street Journal or similar reading material.
Every other week, make the SAT your life. Live and breathe the SAT. Wind down the week before the test. If you want a 2400, then you’ve got to put in the commitment.
