Improving SAT math 570

Hello,

I received a 570 on the SAT math my junior year. Two years later I am at community college and I want to see my potential. I would be happy if I could improve it to around 650, is that a realistic goal to score at least 650 on the math each time I take it? How long would it take? Based on my current level, what kind of books should I study with? I have heard about Dr, Chungs, and Barrons, what would be the best? I already have the blue book.

I have more than a month of study time this winter break, how much can I realistically improve if I study hard? I am serious about this and it would mean a lot if someone gave me some tips and insight - thanks.

I went from a 670 to an 800 in a month, all I did though was take a bunch of practice tests. This really got me familiar with the format of the questions and the practice helped me to practice on avoiding careless mistakes. But for you, I would start studying content, and then hit the practice tests… good luck!

when you took the practice tests, did you time yourself or take your time at first?

I took my time at first, then slowly progressed to finishing in time.

If you scored 570, I would focus on the content. IMO Barrons has the best material about the types of problems and formulas you need to know. Dr. Chung also has good material on this, as does McGraw-Hill’s “50 Skills …”
