@dolphindog congrats!
If we’re still talking about tabs this is quite a compelling read: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0360128509000598

hey guys, i’m red! congrats on everyone who got in!!! and for the ones who haven’t gotten letters yet, dw. i know a kid from southern il who said that they got their letter like a week and a half after everyone else they knew due to the postage service being sketch as heck.
also don’t worry if you end up being waitlisted. i was waitlisted and then accepted the day of move-in and a decent chunk of kids i know that were waitlisted are doing very very well. so don’t take it as a slight against you personally- imsa has a lot of student body requirements to fulfill.
get ready to check out the ask.fm/bigsibling when your big sibilng assignments go out b/c ik that it was a great resource last summer!
last but not least, get hyped!! imsa is a great experience and im excited to meet all of you guys irl. ive spent most of the morning reading the entire thread and your class sounds hecka! hmu if you guys ever need anything
omg people are already getting in ahhhhhhhhhhh
@dolphindog Congrats!! Big envelope or regular? Thick or thin?
i’ve been bugging my dad about if the letter came and i can’t tell if he’s telling the truth or lying bc he said the mail hasn’t come yet i’m djjrhrh
Get ready to see a thin envelope, even if you’re accepted. I was accepted last year but super nervous when the letter came in because it was so thin
@corrjayna as a student of IMSA youre wrong. Nobody cares. Everyone offers different things to the community. You can’t look at SAT scores and determine whether or not you’re getting in. IMSA likes to see that you took advantage of the opportunities at your school. If this means you only did Science Olympiad, then that’s hecking great.
THE LETTER IS HERE! I am looking through the envelope, and I swear I see a “Congratulations”!!!
But I have to wait until my daughter comes back from school!
My hands are shaking!
We live in Oak Park. I can’t open the letter, but I see a “Congratulations!” through the envelope. My daughter comes back at 3.30 p.m. from school.
You will be the first to know!"
At like 3pm this message board is going blow up so much
I dont know anything about the letter size because i called my mom to tell me (i was at school and she was at home) …however i know that the acceptance letter starts with “congratulations, we are pleased to inform you…”
I honestly did not expect to get accepted, @Sunsetdreamer52 i am your friend!
@javascript hmmmmm I don’t think thats how you spell principal - do you have principles?
congrats kiddos on getting in. looking forward to seeing u guys next year :). welcome to the bomb shelter that will be ur home. its a good bomb shelter tho. its honestly pretty lit.
(Current IMSA student speaking) Coming to IMSA is a big life decision. Some people get to the campus and realize this isn’t where they want to be. This is different for everyone. Also if everyone showed up, then no one from waitlist would get in. @javascript
If y’all have any questions regarding IMSA, feel free to message us. This includes me, @alreadyaccepted @iimsasux @“weouthere@imsa”. Congrats on getting in, and please hit us up. We’re all excited to get to know you!
Can someone please describe the envelope as thoroughly as possible?
I’m trying imagine how it would look like, the difference between an accepted letter and an rejected letter so I’d be able to know without ever opening it.
@javascript Heyyyy ok no need to bm people here this isn’t the spot to tear people down. As an imsa student, I can vouch for the fact that some people only realize they aren’t cut out for imsa at orientation. You only realize it once you come here and actually learn what it’s really like.
congrats on getting in 2020. looking forward to being with you guys next year :). hmu if you guys have questions like @beenheredonethat said.
