I failed the SAT, my score went from a 1240 to a 1190.
So I don’t think I have a chance at an 8th grade interview…
Does anyone think that the decline in my score from December to March will be negative to my application?
I tried calling College Board to tell them to not send my scores, but they said it was to late because the scores have already released.
I don’t think it will negatively affect your application since they superscore your SAT. That means they take the best math score you have, and reading writing score. So if on one you got a 500 Math, and a 600 Reading/Writing, and on the other you got a 600 Math, and 500 Reading/Writing, they would see that as 600 Math, 600 Reading/Writing. So I wouldn’t worry too much since SAT is only a portion of the application, and you always have next year.
Can anyone chance me?

@buttercup04
I am a current sophomore who went to Excel so if you or anyone have any questions about excel just let me know.
Do you think that IMSA could give me an 8th grade interview, to talk about improving my SAT scores? The reason I ask this is because I called the IMSA admissions office and one of the people there said that the purpose of an 8th grade interview is to discuss improvements to an applicant’s application, so that they can be a superior applicant in 9th grade. She also said that someone could be called in to talk about improving grades, getting more involved in extra-curriculars, etc.
I am applying for the PROMISE/SEAMS, do you think that if I attend this program, it can help my chances? Also, in a email it says that they are accepting applications from March 1st to April 1st, so does that mean I can still turn it in tomorrow, or would I have to submit the application today?
I think there is a chance about improving your SAT scores – maybe a student who had an 8th grade interview could explain more in detail? But there’s always a possibility, don’t rule it out.
Attending any of IMSA’s programs are always beneficial to your chances. Turn your application tonight at the latest; I wouldn’t try turning it in tomorrow (April 1st), as it’s better earlier than never.
Well, guess who just got a letter saying that they were accepted early?
@mrcw42 nice job!
I didn’t know they sent out letters early
Wait a second … was that an April Fools joke??
maybe
Yeah…I couldn’t resist doing something April Fool’s related here…
Can you guys believe that this time next month, we will have our decisions!
I’m really nervous for decisions
But I’m also a little bit relaxed because I can still try next year…
