I just checked my emails, your right! On the website tho, it says May 1st. I feel like they should update it, because some people didn’t subscribe for IMSA news.
Are you subscribed IMSA emails or newsletter? it should have come to you if you are. If not, just go to their admissions page and sign up
it could have been in spam folder. either way, it goes to the email you used to create your account.
Its scary to think that a lot of our application decisions have already been made and they’re just finalizing some stuff. Our fate is already sealed… LOL
Yeah… I’m actually scared right now. I haven’t even imagined high school without being at IMSA for the past 3 years
Did anyone do the 7th and 8th-grade PROMISE program and/or SEAMS?
I feel like this year would be the one of the most competitive out of all the years… just like how the # of applicants increased by 29% in private colleges and 11% in public colleges after they went test-optional, somebody speculated on reddit that more kids than ever will probably apply… IMSA isn’t even test-optional, its no test at all, despite SAT scores being counted very insignificantly in the admissions process in the first place, the SAT being waivered puts lots of us at a disadvantage. Of course, more applicants doesn’t necessarily mean more qualified candidates to compete with, but I’m just super anxious rn before results
honestly, there’s no reason to be anxious. all the work that you needed to do has been submitted, and it’s completely out of our hands now. just relax, i’m sure we’ll all be fine.
it comes out on monday on the application status and through mail right?
Im not sure if it comes out through the mail or not, but otherwise, yes.
It is coming through the mail as well. I’m assuming that we would all know whether we got accepted or not through the online portal first since internet is faster.
I feel as though that this academy will change my vision of education in many ways. Throughout freshman year, I have always understood the idea that I am going to have to deal with the consequences of living in a sub-par public school. However, with this new opportunity here, I may actually be able to pursue my dream in a school that can accomplish it. If I get in or if I don’t get in, I understand that it won’t stop me to become who I want to be, but if I’m able to improve myself and join this prestigious academy, then I think that’s more than enough evidence that I can accomplish who I want to be. Sorry that I’m rambling too much, but good luck with the application process!
P.S, the applying class of 2024 had a group chat?! I didn’t even know there was one, I could have received much more information about this academy through here instead of looking through the website!
they changed it, we are going to be getting it through an email. We can’t access our portals anymore, it didn’t work for me. This is updated on the admission parts of the website. I dont think we will be mailed either
So will we get an email or portal? Still not quite sure
I hope we all get in, but just be patient and we’ll find out how we receive our results. Looks like we won’t be the only ones new to IMSA. They appointed a new president, Dr. Evan Glazer. Here’s the article to those interested: IMSA Names Illinois Native and Leader in Specialized STEM Schools as Fifth President – Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy
on the website they changed it from portal to the email. please look at the admissions of the website and click prospective applying student from Illinois. then click apply to Imsa. you’ll see in large letters that during the may 3rd week, results will be emailed. hopefully that clears up any confusing!
confusion*
imagine tomorrow morning
In a day or so, everyone’s lives will be changed in one way or another. Good luck everyone!
My heart is beating out of my chest right now!! I doubt I’ll be able to sleep tonight. Good luck to everyone here!
