I'm planning to go to ucsb starting summer, I got offered the a housing contract for this summer, the only problem is that there is a gap between the summer housing and the Fall housing. Do I just go homeless for like 10 days. I'm also transferring my job over there also so I can't just go somewhere else for 10 days. What should I do???

I suppose you can lobby for this: http://www.housing.ucsb.edu/hchoices/student-hotel.htm

Otherwise, you might be out of luck.

I agree with rc251, plus the ucsb hotel could be fun.

oh also, I'd go with the summer on campus housing...as a transfer, I think it's a great resource. Also, they're compensating for not guaranteeing on campus fall housing. You won't know if you get into the on campus housing for the year until the end of june. If you don't get in, then you can find a place that you can move into right away.
If you do get in, I am pretty sure there's only 3 days or so in between, then you could a) get some time off work and visit your folks for a few days or b) stay at the UCSB hotel

Thx for the info, its very helpful.

maybe i'll see you in the transfer dorms :)

you already received the contract?

yeah, I think if your a transfer student you get it within a week.
