In boarding school, are the cliques overly "clique-y"?

As in, are there like specific dorms where the "hot" people live, and do the upperclassmen do that sort of hazing where they use underclassmen as their lackeys? I just wanted to clear this up, some of my friends have been telling me things about boarding school and I'm not sure if they're necessarily true.

I don’t think this a question that one can give a general answer to. All schools are different, and whether or not problems like the ones you mentioned are an issue or not at BS depends on what schools you’re thinking of. Undoubtably at some boarding schools there ARE serious cliques, hazing… Etc. Boarding schools aren’t utopias afterall. But at other schools, problems like the ones you mentioned don’t tend to be an issue. It all depends on the school.

I agree with Luckyduckyme. Every boarding school is different. Rub

I don’t know about the States but the norm at European (non-IB) boarding schools is that underclassmen are lackeys to the upperclassmen, at one particular school in Sweden the underclassmen are not even mentioned by name when called by an upperclassman instead they are referred to as “tarm” or in english, intestine.

I have a couple of friends who went to boarding schools in the United Kingdom and underclassmen are treated very poorly there too. So no this is by no means fictious, it is rather the reality at many european boarding schools as of today.

oooooooooooh cliques i loooove cliques :):)

Do not feed the ■■■■■.

Agreed Neatoburrito! ^^^
