@Niquii77, AH I see now. The mentioning function is wayy better then this other forum that had it. It notified (sp?) me in real time as if it was on facebook. Seem like the site was designed to be faster and more fluid. I imagine it would take older folks quite a while to learn but this feature is VERY useful. Especially if you would want to bring someone into another topic they haven’t posted in. Also the tagging feature take you to their profile if you click on it. Very nice (and stalker-eqsue). I think I like this (still the whiteness)… At least add light blue. as that fit CC color more.

Edit is that little black wheel on the right. Another one line reply.

Ummm…on mobile, how do I get to the last page???

It really is useful. I can think of plenty times when “summoning” a poster would’ve been great. Now, we’re able to do it!

I wish they would:
- Bring back the post numbers.
- Minimize the waste of white space not only on the sides of the webpage but within the posts.
- Add colors to the webpage. White. White. White.
- Add a selection of skins.
- Post an official tutorial. LOL There so many threads of people asking for how-to’s.

EDIT: LOL And what TheAtlantic has just demonstrated. 6) Allow mobile to get to the last page of a thread. Number one reason why I won’t be using CC on my phone. Which pretty much limits my time to an hour a day on average to look on CC.

@intparent
I think Repede was trying to play on the phrase. “haters gonna hate” not trying to sound incoherent.

On the upper right of your post, a small gear will appear, at least for an hour after your post. The edit window is now an hour instead of 20 minutes.

Everybody configures their own computer screen resolution view so those who are seeing “lots of white” on the left and right can perhaps alter that by changing the resolution of their screen. On a PC it’s in your control panel under appearance.

Do you know how this works on a Mac, @momofthreeboys?

Is that the same as adjusting your screen brightness?

@TheAtlantic Ahh…he was…Man, I must be getting old to miss that. :D

I know several sites that use forum software similar to this.
I’m glad to see the real time notifications, cause I love 'em on other forums.

There are just a few substantial fixes to make. Moble is overall 100x better overall, but there are navigation issues.

Probably the majority of the complaints would be addressed by user controls for the following:

Font size (though the user can control that in the browser as well).

Whether avatars are shown and how large (smaller or no avatars would reduce wasted space on smaller posts).

Color of background, words in posts, and words with links in posts.

@momofthreeboys Could you go into more details about this? I’m not sure how to change the screen resolution view (would help if you had Win. 8.1 lol)

What happened??? I can’t find the end of any thread and can’t tell where anything is.

@Descuff, in Windows 8.1 you swipe from the right, tap PC settings, tap PC and then tap Display. You’ll be able to play with the resolution when you get there. I’m going from memory because I don’t run 8.1 at home, but I think you’ll find it if you play around alittle.

If you are logged in and click on the thread title, it looks like that will take you to the first post of the thread that you have theoretically not read.

:-&

For Mac users who wish to make the font larger, just click on the little A A that can be placed on the Toolbar. Click on View on the pulldown menu, then Customize Toolbar. When all of the little icons appear, just drag the one that looks like a lighter A and a bolder A and place it where you want on the Toolbar. This allows user to increase or decrease font size on any website. I would be completely lost without it and use it so often, that I once found myself in my car trying to tap the dashboard in order to make a street sign appear larger. It was at that point that I realized I was spending a bit too much time on my computer.

How many pages does a thread contain? I feel like I’m reading and reading and not sure if I am ever going to get to the last page…geez… why doesn’t it show how many pages I am going to have to wade through to get to the end??? Wow I posted on page 4 and now when I wasted my time pressing the next button…The end is actually page 12 at the moment. I should not have to scroll down every single page to the bottom and then click the arrow and go only one page more. How much time do you think we have to look through old comments? And when I tried to search my username to get back to this post to edit it, without scrolling again, it said my username was not found. Huh? Who did you survey before making this improved and easier new format? Where is my user control panel…and my sent messages? Read receipt? For anyone in the college selection process, I pity you because I am not happy the forums I subscribe to are all missing and I don’t want to see every post I’ve ever made bookmarked and I can’t find my important ones. Ugh.

I just spent some time looking at CC’s new features. I think I could get used to a lot of new features, but the white background is driving my eyes crazy. It is too glaring. I then went to FB to see what their pages looked like. Sure enough, they also have white background. BUT it works well because FB has very few words with a LOT of pictures, which make FB really pop and easy to read. On the other hand, we don’t post pics on CC, we do a lot of writing, and the white background is really hard on people’s eyes when they are doing a lot of reading. I really hope CC will change the background soon.

Thanks romani, clearing cookies worked.

Can one of the administrators please explain exactly how the FB function works? If someone else wants to link my post to their Facebook page, can they do that? How will it look in FB? No one wants to try it to see, I suspect.
