In case you missed the announcement ...

Oh, goodness. These kiddies are eating up the avatar features. I feel like I was just transplanted into Facebook for a second…I hope they know they’re essentially sharing their identity with the world.

Yes… a one line reply takes up 1/3 of my screen on my laptop…

My main issue with this format is that when I’m on my phone, I can’t jump to the last page.

Also, I feel like the “@” function can be easily abused and spammed.

CC now looks like a cheesy low-budget forum I occasionally frequent. Not a good move, CC, not at all.

How do I upload an avatar? I can’t find a control panel, and the Edit Profile doesn’t seem to have that function.

Where are my subscribed threads? “My Bookmarks” is showing 128, which is 28 more than was possible under the old format. Not sure what’s in there.

Is there ANY way to enlarge the font?

To upload an avatar, click on your name in the upper right corner, then click on the Edit Profile button. There is an option on the right menu to upload a picture.

Regarding the font – no way within the software/settings. You can change your screen resolution or zoom in if your browser allows you to zoom to greater than 100%.

On my screen, almost everything is light blue except for the actual posts. So welcome page, list of forums on page and list at left, usrname (also way too small), time, notifications, inbox etc. etc. Against a white background it is blinding for me, and the whole design has too many distractions. I can barely see the usernames unless I find my glasses.

My theory is that this redesign was done by younger techies who don’t understand what parents need. Granted, I may be older than a lot of you but still, it’s not a considerate design.

I also always used the “classic” so that the light blue there was converted to dark typeface so I could see it without squinting.

CC, please go back to what you were before.

@LasMa

Click your name in the top right corner. Click the orange edit button. Click change my picture on the left hand site.

Hold ctrl and + down at the same time (or command for macs), and you’ll zoom in.

So when I click on a random user avatar and see all their “activity” what am I seeing? private messages or replies of some sort? Not a fan of the new setup, but like so many of you here, I am OLD! and really not a techie type. I do see a place on the left of the Edit profile page that says ‘change my picture’ but haven’t yet figured it out.

What is with the “bookmark” before every thread title. Does everyone have that or did I press something I shouldn’t have?

Also, we can no longer see all the threads on one page and see which ones have new posts since we were last on. Sorry, I’ll stop.

Oh, the Junior Member, Senior Member notation makes no sense. Why are there two under each avatar, and why are mine different?

compmom, I think the bookmark is what used to be called subscribe.

CC, can something please be done about the teeny-tiny print on the user names?

Hmmm. Not crazy about the new look, but I don’t want to oppose changes for opposition’s sake. I’ll hand around a while. We will see.

I’ve given it a day of coming and going. Get a headache every time. I’m sad :frowning:

Go back to the old format!

This will take some getting used to…

There needs to be solid demarcation marks between posts and to separate areas on main forum pages. Can there at least be alternating shading for posts?

After all the cold and snow, I do not need to see an all white page glaring at me, as it makes it hard to read the board. In addition, the all white makes if hard finding the reply box. I had to tilt my laptop screen in order to find the darned box!

I also NEED post numbers. I need POST numbers. I need post NUMBERs.

I need date and time stamps on EVERY post for last week’s , this week’s, and today’s posts and for them to remain there forever, and ever and ever.

Did I state that there is a need for numbering posts?

Also, when posting a CC thread or comment into another thread, it does not show the thread title any longer, just the actual HTTP address. Here’s an example of what I am talking about: <a href=“In case you missed the announcement ... - Parents Forum - College Confidential Forums”>In case you missed the announcement ... - Parents Forum - College Confidential Forums;

On the old board, the above link would look like this:
In case you missed the announcement

In order to look like the above, I would have to MANUALLY enter coding and am too lazy to do so.

And what’s up with a few of the threads showing total number of posts and views, while other threads show number KBs for number of posts and views.

Where did my location information go?

Make names bigger & get rid of the avatar if need be.

What’s the purpose of listing my status as a member twice?

Where is the NEW CC BOARD for DUMMIEs manual?

Why are pages loading slower?

@Repede: If my previous experience on the other forum AND facebook are any indication (and the other forum have more kids than adults) it won’t really be abused and spam. And if it is, I’m sure the staff of this site will take disciplinary measure.

@Descuff @Descuff

I’m not worried about regular posters, I’m worried about trolls that come here for a day and spam.

Also, did that give you two notifications? Just curious.

@momofthreeboys luckily I found it by simply searching “Display” (got to love the search function on Win. 8). However it doesn’t really do anything for me but kinda make it the same or make it worse lol.

@Repede Nope, it does not. It seem it’s limited to one post.
