"Today I finally got the AP Prep books I needed to start studying for the AP exams. When I got the 4 books I started looking through them and saw all the crazy things I would need to know. There must have been at least half a ton of information in all the books combined. Especially the 'Modern European History' book (the picture did not do it justice). However after this little realization....I felt happy...Why did I feel happy you might ask? Well because its all the new things I will learn. I guess you can say I'm in love with knowledge."

What do you think of this quote? I kinda feel the same way. Because really we might be doing this for college administration, or whatever, but it is kinda fun :) Well at least to me.

i’ve got the wisdomlust too (i made that word up)

but i don’t think it should be inspired or even brought on by AP stuff. allow me to quote mark twain “i have never let my schooling interfere with my education.” don’t only learn what school tells you to.

We should transfer some of this sentiment over to the OP of this thread, who seems to have completely lost his “love for knowledge”. Or it seems that he/she unfortunately never experienced it in the first place :(.

“Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.”
Albert Einstein

“The only source of knowledge is experience.”
Albert Einstein

The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.
Albert Einstein

For all those that keep quoting Albery Einstein let me just say this:

Imagination is what you want to make (your dreams).
Information is turned into knowledge.
Knowledge is required to make your dreams into a reality.

Therefore there must be an equal balance of all to make a difference for one needs the other to make something happen.

Your using the words Information and Knowledge incorrectly the way Einstein means it.

HE is saying that reading thousands of books and memorizing billions of things, is not
the same as understanding. Any wanna be nerd can memorize many facts and learn all the subjects
before his peers… but it takes a true genius to use his imagination to create something NEW.

^ And unfortunately in today’s world to gain experience you need some knowledge. No one is just going to let you go into their lab, or whatever, and start messing around with things.
