Essays
1. Talked about mom giving me confidence to pursue my passion(nothing special but blends into second essay)
2. Talked about my passion for cars. How I modified my car from the ground up doing all installs for all out performance over looks. Also talked about how I have an analytical mind by doing dynos of certain parts before and after and stuff like that. (might not sound too great of an essay but it's defiently unique and my colledge adviser at school said that it revealed a lot about me and it was actaulyl one of the best essay she has read.

I think that my whole app is focused towards math and science with decent test scores in those areas and then my essay is focused on "mechnical engineering". Does this focus show them that I know what I want to do and follow my one passion help me out?

I would extremely appreciate your input guys. Thx a lot
Chance backs welcome:)

Your GPA is a bit on the low side and the scores are ok, but probably a slightly low for Berk and LA. I think lack of a strong math 2 score and the 2 in Calc AB are probably going to hurt.
USC - reach
UC Berkeley - reach
UCLA - reach
UCI - high match
UCSB - high match
Cal Poly SLO - high match/slight reach

What do you think about UCSD? That’s basically my number one choice that I would love to go to and realiastically have a chance to get in i think? Comments greatly appreciated

UCSD is equally a reach. Maybe even bigger than LA or Berk because their point system places HEAVY emphasis on a good gpa, which usually must be at least around a UC 4.0.

But let’s say I took all regular calsses and had a 4.0. Would that be better than my 3.64 challenging myself with multiple honor and AP classes?

I was talking about with all the honors calsses. I have 8 weighted calsses total along with honors calsses freshman and sophmore year that aren’t weighted. Anyway I appreciate your honest responses. THx a lot shiomi:)

If you guys dont’ mind I have another concern.

Which has the best engineering school? I also need guidance towards my future career goal. My dad is an orthodontist and I’ve always wanted to become one, but would be happy as a dentist as well. Now my question is how do I major in Mechanical Engineering but take the pre-requisites to get into Dental School right after I get my BA in Mechanical Engineering? Any tips appreciated. Thx a lot:)

I believe that for those 3 schools the average ACT is a 26 or 27 if i’m not mistaken. I was hopeing my ACT score woudl help my lower than average GPA.
