Hi guys,

I am currently a junior preparing for my ACT. In a school administered practice exam through Revolution Test Prep I received a 29 composite. Not bad, but not where I want to be. The breakdown went like this:

34 English
31 Math
27 Reading
25 Science

As you can see, Science and Reading are holding me back from breaking into the 30's. I am not too worried about the reading due to a few new skills I have gained. However, I just can't seem to find a productive strategy when it comes to the science section. I am shooting for a 32-33 composite for my April test date. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I struggled greatly with science too. The first two times I took the ACT I got a 25 on science, and then after using their online prep material with the practice test in the book I got a 27 on my third and final attempt at the test, which may have had nothing to do with the practice. So the bad news is all you can really do is practice and hope for the best, but definitely master the ability to complete each question quickly. The good news is you can still easily get a 32 or 33 by raising your science score just a tad. I for example scored in the 34-35 range on the other 3 sections and ended up with a composite right where you’re looking to be so the science didn’t end up affecting me too much (though it is painful to realize the world of difference just 4 or 5 additional correct answers on that section would make on the composite).
