I'm a senior looking for the top pharmacy programs. I looked at all types of rankings, but I'm interested in going into a pharmacy school right after high school; not many colleges have that type of PharmD program. Anyways, I've already gotten into Rutgers School of Pharmacy, but can I do better? What are the best schools that I can apply to so that I can go into the six-year program right after high school? I saw that Rutgers is ranked around 25th, and I'm really looking for something better, unless I'm just dumb enough to not know that 25th is pretty darn good. Anyways, help! lol thanks for any advice.

Northeastern University has a good PharmD program as does URI

My entire family is pharmacists....and they all went to the University of Iowa
At Iowa, they have a 5 year track and you can even intern at the hospital there on campus too....that's what my aunt and uncle did...
Good luck!

A very good program that's also relatively easy to get into is the PharmD program at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. A lot of the famous names in Pharmacy, including six founders of Pharmaceutical companies (including Eli Lilly who started Lilly, the guy who started Aventis, McNeil of McNeil, John Wyeth from Wyeth, and Warner of Warner-Lambert.) It used to be called Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and was the first pharmacy school in the US. I tagged along on someone else's visit and it was really nice...if I were majoring in bio or pharmacy or something, I'd definitely be applying there.

http://www.usip.edu/ if you want to check it out.

As for other schools, UNC has a good PharmD program.

The best way to handle this would be to try to figure out where in the country you'd like to work and ask the companies in that area where people go, because there isn't much respect for the Pharmacy school rankings from what I've been told. I know that in the Philly area, Rutgers and USP are the two prime schools. (I know this stuff because it seems half of my friends have parents who work in that field)

Anyway, I know that USP is really respected, at least in this area, more than the other schools in the region, and that Rutgers is in second place. Just don't bother with Temple. On the western side of PA, Pitt has a pretty good program. Most of the ones ranked above Pitt and USP are either midwestern or west coast schools, and if you like the east coast there's no need to go further at all. I know a lot of people with good careers at Merk and Wyeth and the other major companies in the Philadelphia area who are from schools in this region.
