anyone know top top pharmacy schools?

i dont know much about the west coast but Rutger's in NJ, Northeastern in MA, and Purdue university have really good 6 year pharmacy programs.

aren't all pharm schools 6 years?

yes, the first 2 years are for pre-pharmacy then the other 4 are pharmacy related subjects

Most Big 10 schools have very good pharm schools.

University of Kentucky has an excellent pharmacy program in all areas(they have b.s. and pharmD).

I've heard that the University of Texas has a great pharmacy school...i know someone who goes there and is currently pre-pharm. GOOD LUCK!

St.John's University New York City (Queens) has an excellent program. A lot of merit aid if you have the grades/scores.

wow thanks alot guys

I live in New Jersey and I am gonna apply to Rutgers pharm school with bunch of others schools iam gonna apply... 27. Rutgers ... Is that kinda low? and how hard would it be for an in-state student to get into Rutgers

i don't think UNC has a 6 year program...but not 100% positive--those rankings could be just for pre-pharmacy schools, in which case you would have to transfer after 2 years

the ranking itself doesn't have much basis at all - it's merely opinion. Some are well founded such as UCSF, but others are specious. No research funding, no faculty:student ratios - really it's quite pointless. Just like the idea of "good" or "bad" medical schools. They're oxymorons.

rutgers has a great pharmacy school plus you'll have tons of opportunities for internships and such b/c jersey is home to many of the top pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Agree with Snuffles. I would try to stay away from brand new schools just because you don't know much about faculty and success rate on board exams.-just my opinion. But I would not apply that to a school such as UCSD. :0

Really it doesn't matter with the shortage-just get the degree and pass the board to get a license. for now at least.

The web site above is the best all round I have seen.

Rutgers has the top 5%, 1500 SAT honors thing where you can get a full-ride. I'm not sure if its for in-state only, and whether or not it applies to Pharmacy.
