I'm absolutely dreading taking them tomorrow and will probably die. Anyone else hate the regents?

The only regents exam I’m concerned about this year is the chemistry, but english, trig and history should be no problem.

P.S. I think every NY student hates them lol :p

Uh they shouldn’t be too bad this year. US, English, and Spanish should all be pretty straightforward. But in physics I’m a little weak, and if I were to take the trig regents tomorrow, I’d be lucky to break an 80.

Hate em, love em, whatever. I’m mad that it’s one and done for seniors taking the US regents. I’m worried I won’t be seeing a couple of my friends, unfortunately. I hate regents, just like everyone else. They’re holding people hostage and stuff.

I love the global regents, such broad topics you could have not really been paying attention in history class the whole year and still do really well. Chemistry I’m a little bit more worried about, but I took the chem SAT 2 so I studied a lot already. The English regents is freaking me out however. I took the 9th grade final last year which is basically the same as the regents and I only got an 81 on it. English is my worst subject but an 81? That was horrible to see on my transcript. Whatever I got better at writing so hopefully I’ll do better.

At my school they count as 5th marking period grades so that sucks. I only have US History regents left (I’m a junior and already completed the English regents in January).

UGH… I have 5 regents to take. I took my english final today , I am in English Honors so I take a regents for that. I have:

English
Global
Spanish
Earth Science
Geometry

The only one I am truly concerned about is Geometry, and I’m a little worried about global because My teacher last year was terrible (so terrible that instead of reviewing for the final we sat and watched Forrest Gump) So as long as there’s only Greece and the Roman Empire from last year (student teacher) and material from this year ill be good.

And both the regents and finals count as a full 10 period marking period.

I have three:
US History
French
and Physics
(took English in January)

But I’m only really worried about French because we don’t really do anything in the class.

I usually like the regentses because they count as our finals no matter what level the class is and they’re a lot easier than whatever my teachers would make up for us. :P

I have 5:
Italian
English
Global
Trig
Chem

The regents exams are so much easier than what we do in class and it counts as the final. At my school, we prefer regents over school issued finals.

global, bio, trig, and french. somebody shoot me because the prep sites are down (as always at this time of year) and global is tomorrow morning!!!

I only have one. I hate the regents. No other state has them. I’d rather to take SAT II’S.

I studying now for my Physics exam. Probably going to fail buts its I’d still graduate

I have US History and English.
I personally like the regents that are required for graduation. They count for a 5th quarter grade (weighted), and after completing the AP class in the subject, they’re utter jokes. I got 99 on Global last year, and will probably do well on these two also.
Now, as for regents that are not required to graduate - those aren’t as nice. They’re harder, and they still count for a 5th quarter grade.

I have 4 regents, and 1 final in total…I took the final on Monday and I took my global regents today. I didn’t think it was hard. I forgot a couple of African rulers so messed up on like 3 multiple choice, but I thought that the essays were good. Anyone else take it?

Can someone ask his/her teacher if you HAVE TO use pencil on the Chem regents for the graphs and drawings?
Our school uses a part-time teacher and I have no one to ask before the final.
Thanks!

I thought that you had to use pen on the graphs…But I think it can be either. Your proctor will definitely tell you, and if not you can ask them.

Thanks for your answer.

The instructions always state to use pencil on the drawings and graphs, but we didn’t when we did practice exams.
The tests are sent to another school for scoring, so we’re trying to find out now.
The Aug/Jan retakes for chem have been eliminated, so I don’t want to mess up and have to wait til next June.

I love regents! There much easier than a final that any of my teachers would give (5 of my 6 finals are ap/honors) so a regents counting as my final grade in 2 of my SOS is great for me! Plus the curve is much better than on a regular school exam

^how is the curve better! One point off on the chem, bio, and geometry regents and you’re down to a 98! One point off on my English final and I got a 99 :P

Freshman year I liked the regents because it was so quiet in the room. I took earth Science and Geometry. I was pretty calm for those regents. Didn’t get a 100 on either though :P

My precalculus test this year is not curved at all. My teacher said no questions will be omitted and there’s no partial credit…I think the regents tend to be a bit more lenient hahaha:)

Although it is true that these tests can have harsher curves, most of the others have curves were you can get 2-3 points off and still get a 99
