In order, which APs are easiest?

Which take the least time to prepare for (and how many months is that)?

Which are easiest to self-study?

Which are the easiest to get good grades on?

And which are the hardest/most impressive APs?

Thanks :).

The AP English tests require zero studying, and studying is not likely to help you much. Out of all the other AP tests I’ve taken, the easiest (factoring in the curve), in order, were: biology, economics, chemistry, english language, US history, english lit, calculus, and then physics.

Most impressive to get a 5 on, imo, are: Calc BC, physics, european history and a few others (possibly latin or other languages).

Which are easiest to self-study that I’ve taken: both english tests, econ (both), biology, and (if you’ve taken biology already), environmental science

^Take these with a grain of salt. These answers really depend on the person and the prospective schools.

Human geography takes the least time.

Human geography and environmental science are the easiest to self-study.

Easiest to get good grades on depends on how well you do in the corresponding class. Any can be easy if you really put your mind to it, like biology or world history.

The most impressive are definitely the language ones for non-natives.

there are at least five million threads about this same topic.

Economics has been the easiest self-study for me. I did spend more time on it than I could’ve. I did my studying very sparatically. I did 3 intensive weeks throughout the school year.

As far as order from easiest to hardest to get good grades in, this is a very difficult topic and my opinion often changes. But of the ones I’ve taken, from easiest to hardest:

Calc (AB and BC) (4, 5), Economics (Micro and Macro) (not received score yet but pretty sure 5 on both), Music Theory (5), Physics C (Mech and E&M) (not received score yet, but I’m thinking 5s on both), AP Stats (was completely unprepared and still pulled a 3), AP Chem (5), AP US gov (self-study without about a week of studying in december and then a couple days before AP test, think I got a 4), AP Euro (self-study that took a lot of time, but pretty sure I got a 5 maybe a 4).

Although I did get a 4 on Calc AB, I still declare it the easiest because I got a 4 even though none of my frqs were graded because I put them all in the blue/green insert instead of the graded pink booklet. BC, I’m pretty sure if I was able to see my raw score, I would’ve received 100% of the points. It was one of the easiest tests of my life.

Music Theory, I naturally find this easy after 10 years of piano.

Physics C, this is one self-study that was difficult to understand the material, esp. E&M, but once you get it, it is really easy, and there isn’t a whole lot of material.

Stats, I self-studied in 2 days and managed to acheive a 3, enough said. I just wish the FRQs were more explicit like they are in Calc or Physics.

Chem, took honors chem. The only thing about chem, is there is a lot of material, and you will not remember half of it a year later. I looked the FRQs from this years AP chem test, and stopped after the 1st problem, becuase I couldn’t remember how to do it.

US Gov, I just found it hard to focus while studying this. (why would I study this if I could study something more interesting like Euro or Physics)

Euro, just a lot of information. But it is an awesome test.
