In Rainbows: New Radiohead album!

For any Radiohead fans this is crazy news because the album was speculated to be released sometime in 2008. They are going to release it on october 10th via a free download on their website. You do have the option to donate money however. On december 3rd they will ship a disc box I think with a bunch of other goodies but that is quite expensive.

Oh and to all those people who try and make 1000 posts by ______ date.
The radiohead forum got 1500 posts in 1.5 days ^_^ regarding the new album.

I already put a thread up for this you know... the website and information is all on there

lol didnt check

man, release day and nothing from you guys! I thought there were some radiohead fans here. I'm not even a big fan and I've got the thing downloading right now. anyone hear it yet?

I'm downloading it and I'm not even much of a fan. WOO for free stuff.

am i stupid? where is the link to download on their website?

^That's what I was about to say! I'm looking and looking and I see nothing.

I'm not much of a Radiohead fan. Haven't really listened to them.

On a sidenote, why is everyone obsessed with Jamiroquai?

Have you ever seen the National Douchebag Championships? Funny, funny thing.

I got the link from a sendspace of it because I had problems getting it from the main site.

so far 15 Step is really good
Bodysnatchers is good too.

this is all I have listened to so far but I'm listeniing currently.

I'm downloading from the link that says local.

Nude is the first ballad, done pretty nicely, reminicent of Motion Picture Soundtrack off of KidA only with a backing band and no organ.

WOW I really like it. I can't believe there isn't more talk about it here, really, this is like smart music. I think 15 Steps is a great beginning, love the song. Also Videotape is so Radiohead. what else do I like...there is a great swell in Reckoner I think. I am really excited to have it.

I listen to Radiohead all the time but I'm not really a fan. Don't know all the band members' names, don't care about their lives, don't have the singles and B-sides, don't watch their music videos, don't go to their forums, don't even legally own all their albums, don't read the liner notes, don't look at the album art, etc. Just like the music.

I downloaded at 12:01 am today. I AM a radiohead fan :D. It is an amazing album. My favorite song is probably Faust Arp, but then again the intro to Nude is amazing.
I'm thinking the time signature for 15 steps is 5/4? Not sure though. I have been posting mainly on the Radiohead forum, Mortigi Tempo, but considered bumping this thread and then I noticed someone already did me the favor. :)

yeah, thats 5/4. one of my favorite songs on the album,. love the sudden "YEA" from the children the recruited. I also like house of cards with its ambient ideas and what sounds like a bowed guitar (I actually think its just very quick picking with aton of reverb)

for the most part, its pretty good but does not blow me away. still good though.

Yeah, I miss songs like The Tourist, and How to Disappear Completely, where there is that "Wow factor" present. I SO wish I was one of those kids and be on a Radiohead album. Ugh this new album has caused me to procrastinate soo much on two papers due tomorrow.

between getting this, just finding a copy of A Sunny Day in Glasgow and mastering a few of my own tracks, I can't find the time to do anything. I hope sigur ros pulls something out of the bag for thier next release. Takk was mediocre at best. Agaetis Byrjun was on the same level as Kid A if not higher. I enjoyed it more than most of radioheads output.

I completely agree with the whole Sigur Ros thing. I was listening to Agaetis Byrjun while walking through a rural scenic town in Northern Italy and it was a very relaxing experience.

it's not bad, ok computer was a bit better though.

too bad this is going to be so overrated though :/

Well even if it was true that Ok Computer was a bit better, not many albums get that close to rivaling OKC so im content with an album ALMOST as good as OKC
