I noticed some classes, like US History, say they have a requirement by their classes. What exactly does that entail? Does that mean I have to write 6,000 words to attain the credit? Thanks!

If you pass the AP exam, then you get the writing credit for that many words. For example my daughter passed the AP Human Geography, and so she got 6K words towards the mandatory 24K writing requirement.

Does the 24k word requirement refer to a semester or a full year or what?
I’ll have enough credits from IB and AP classes to earn all 24k words.

its a graduation requirements. just like you need 120 credits to graduate most programs, you need 24k words to graduate from any program. its entirely likely you have all the credits you need and wont need to take a gordon rule writing class again.

This thread had me freaked out because I saw the Gordon Rule courses ([General Education and Writing & Math (Gordon Rule) Courses - UF Flexible Learning / Correspondence Study](http://www.correspondencestudy.ufl.edu/GenEd.aspx)) and they looked horrible. Thankfully I have enough 6,000 word writing requirement AP exams passed…

I’m going to be majoring in engineering, so you can understand why I’d hate to take some of those classes.

i don’t even need to know you’re an engineering major you understand why lol
