Hi all.
I got into Barnard ED (and I’m beyond thrilled), so I’ve been scoping out the rooming situations and what not for next fall. One of the things I came across was the In-Res Seminars: all of which sound really amazing. I thought I heard somewhere that the women in these classes generally live on the same floor, but I can’t find that information anywhere. Is that the case, or is it similar to a regular class?
Thanks!

It is the same as any other First-Year Seminar except that you are all living together. This is a nice way to get to know some people right away, but the class you take is more important than if it’s in-res.

I’ve heard very good things about The Beautiful Sea and Animals in Text and Society (the other two seminars on my floor), and I was in The Summons to Adventure, which was absolutely fantastic. Just try to find something that interests you and definitely look up the profs on CULPA to see who looks good. Having a great professor matters more than taking a course in subject matter you’re already very interesting (although if you can get both, that’s obviously ideal).

Thanks for the information!
I definitely want to look in to that for next fall.
