My guidance counselor recently told me that it is going to help me if nobody else from my school applies ED to columbia next year, with a 3.66 gpa and a 2200+ sat score with pretty good Ecs outstanding comm service and terrific recomendations and essay am i a likely acceptance for columbia?

(I'm applying to S.E.A.S Ed which has like a 34% acceptance rate so I think things are looking good right now)

What is your rank or decile compared to the rest of your classmates? They may defer you and wait till the regular decision pool to see who else is qualified.

we really need to know more about your app to judge. But your GPA is low, SAT is decent (but doesn’t make up for anything), so I’m gonna say you’re deferred, and probably then rejected. But one would need to know more to have any certainty at all.

School does not disclose a class rank but if I had to rank I would say top 15%
ECS include Model UN FBLA HOSA regional science fair a youth group at a local islamic mosque in which I am very involved and we do everything from fundraising to build a school in Israel to soup kitchens to fund raising; I am pretty much in charge of all of that. Volunteer at columbia hospital as well as the Jewish community center. Varsity football for 3 years JV captain last year. Freshman Track. Internship at a fertility lab in new york and biomaterials research internship at columbia university. Also I am doing a summer program at columbia this summer. My recomendations include one from my school principal as well as my JCC counselor and my Mosque leader to top it all off.

Also, I am trying to obtain a cardiovascular research license at columbia hospital this summer. My career aspirations are to recieve a nobel prize for the invention of a mechanical kidney to help people like my father who are lacking kidneys. My major is Biomedical Engineering and my gpa was 3.491,3.544,3.967 so there is significant improvement in that area as well. On my subject tests I would say im in the 700-750 range for Math IIc and Chem. I plan on taking the acts which I am excellent at, I scored myself and recieved a 35 on a practice test and that includes writing.

ECs look pretty good. research is always good. your GPA in that context looks quite a bit better. if you can get those scores too, I think your shot at Columbia ED is actually pretty good.

my only concern is, why not get a recommendation from a teacher? you probably know better than me, but it just seems a bit irregular.

haha lol i am i am those recomendations are besides my two teachers one of which I had the highest ever average in her class, a 103.7 for the year and the other is completely n love with me because I won the regional science fair and she was like the teacher in charge
