In school suspension - putting on college app?

On your college app, this is the question you will have to answer "yes" or "no"---" Have you ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation at an educational institution you have attended from the 9th grade forward (or the international equivalent), whether related to academic misconduct or behavioral misconduct, that resulted in your probation, suspension, removal, dismissal, or expulsion from the institution?"

Suspended for a miscommunication with my parents and skipping school when in actuality I had a note and my parents knew full well where I was. The assistant dean said since it was my first offense it would not be in my record. Yet if it had happened again it would. What should I put if the question above is asked? Sadly I have submitted my common apps already except for one and the information is locked since I submitted the first app. How should I go about this?

If it’s not on your record, ask your guidance counselor because he/she may include it in his/her letter to the school. From the circumstances you described, though, I doubt that’ll happen. But definitely ask anyway.

Ask to see what’s on your GC’s req. If the GC’s a true bit** she might put it on. Otherwise, don’t put anything.

I’m on my school’s honor council.

We had this discussion the other day.

Out of school suspension goes on the college app, but iss doesn’t.

It might be different at your school, but since you were told that it won’t go there, I’d assume it’s the same.
