I read somewhere that Ohio has an unusual law that allows military members, veterans, and their dependents to qualify for in-state tuition even if they move to the state the day before registration.

Has anybody taken advantage of this benefit, or know more details about it?

All New Mexico public univerities offer in-state tuition rates to all active duty military personnel, all military veterans, to dependants of any active duty military who live or are stationed in New Mexico, and to dependents of military personnel who lost their lives while on active duty. (Dependents must move to NM within 60 days after the death of the military member.)

No waiting periods. In-state rates effective immediately upon moving to NM.

These tuition waivers are also available to National Guard members and their families.

[UMUC - Homepage](http://Www.UMUC.edu) offers in-state rates to active military. Check the website for current policies about dependents and veterans. There are live classes at or near bases around the world, as well as extensive on-line offerings.
