At some state schools (Utah) you can qualify for in-state tuition after your freshman year by maintaining state residency over the summer, but others (Michigan) that is not an option. Does anyone know how Wisconsin handles this?
In general states that have popular state flagships make it difficult or impossible for an out of state student to qualify for in state tuition. Wisconsin-Madison is a very popular state flagship.
The answer to your question is on the Wisconsin website.
The website has general legalese but no clear answer. Is there anyone out there with direct experience with this issue?
No. You don’t qualify for instate tuition after a year.
Very very hard to do.
