Got into both, but no FA or merit aid at either.
Would have to pay full tuition at Duke, but in-state tuition at Carolina.
Visited both, but still not sure. I thought Duke would wow me, but it didn’t.
Eventually want to get into neuroscience or MBE graduate studies.
Obviously Carolina in this case
For your costs, I see no reason not to choose UNC. And especially so if Duke didn’t feel like a great fit. Both institutions benefit from the significant activity at nearby Research Triangle Park.
Duke might help you with grad school placement and open more doors if you want to do something else, but that’s about it and doesn’t outweigh the cost factor depending on what you want to do. (For something like Finance, Duke would be the obvious choice for ex.)
UNC for sure!
Save the money. Go UNC.
Save your money for possible grad school/anything else and go to UNC.
