In the midst of my craziness...

I have decided to take up running as to refocus my energy away from things I can nolonger controll(you guessed it, college apps). Giving my stresses and concerns to my applications at this point will do nothing more than send them negative energy.
Plus, i have a company christmas party next week

Has anyone else taken up anything new in such a manner?
I was orignally going to take up baking, but that didnt work... I figured that one could not exactly screw up running... well unless you hurt yourself... hmmm

I've been going to sleep a lot later than usual, but that's because of this annoying, tedious essay that threw off my whole sleeping schedule.

how long are you going to be running? running long distances really trashes your legs for the first few months. it really sucks if you get shin splints too. luckily mine mysteriously disappeared after a while (that or i just stopped feeling the pain somehow).

running is great. i first took it up just because, but now im really good at xc running. it also gives you this really nice euphoric feeling after your done too.

Gotta love those endorphines! I was once (in the sophomore/juinor days) running about 5 miles at a time, and toning with weights. I never got serious shin splints but my hips are "unalligned" something I never noticed until I started getting pain on one side, lol. I need to get adjusted. When I started working, the training was reduced to pilates, yoga, and martial arts.

I took up ADOM to distract myself from NetHack. It actually worked, for two months or so.

I am sorry, please write that again in words that I would understand... You would be at caltech. Haha, thats awesome.

Runner's high.

exactly. (ten characters)

lol. I LOVVEEE runner's high. It's like orgasm x2 without the uhm..yeah. =D

Mono, you're hilarious.
I have decided that working out is quite a positive and cinstructive waste of my time.

Nah, don't neglect your health while you're young. Problems will sprout up later in life. =</p>

haha, I mean that it is a good waste of time. Rather than my wasting of on other things. Im all for it.

you've got it all wrong..an orgasm x2 can only be achieved by two orgasms!!

p.s. I think it's unfair that females can have multiple orgasms and guys can't!

Wow this thread got really weird really quick.
i do love a runner's high though Running really clears my mind. I actually was able to come up with a good idea for one of my college essays while I was running.

Guys get them more easily, though, so I guess it evens out?

So not the way I planned this thread to go.
...wow

lol sorry I side-tracked the thread. But I was really wondering why women can get 2 or three orgasms in one sitting, while a guy has to do all the work for a lousy 3 or 4 seconds....just wondering.

p.s. I didn't know there was any such thing as runner's high...

yea, i've run xc for the past 3 years, never been great, but with all the stress of college stuff i have started running long longggg distances. i think i might be getting a bit too crazy though, im training for a marathon thats in the spring. ahhh, anyone else run a marathon as a high schooler? i need advice!!!

oh and runner's highs = :)
